I guess they leave the heads on so you can tell its a duck....or a white duck. You can also buy snails, horse etc...........and even this pate stuff they get off the livers of ducks and geese that they force feed....oh by the way.....not one roadside BBQ to be seen.....we ate lots of bagettues and really enjoyed it

They have NO WATER worries....the rivers and streams are full to the brim.In the towns they have drinking water fountains that run all the time....Therese and I were always looking for some where to turn them off......different water situation for sure

The houses are nearly all these colours in the country....no blues ,pinks etc.....its all like the colour of the sandstone etc.....Most have working shutters

This was Renne le Chateau...fantastic place....lots of history around the holy grail, knights, Cathars etc.....

Castles everywhere....

It was real blowy at Sete on the mediteranian....so we made the big decision to forgo trhe yachts, white shoes and Casinos and head away from all the wealth into the country side....after all we had been to Surfers

shopping for the staples....Therese had great fun and was very good at reading the labels in french...although she did serve me up what she thought was yogurt finding it was cream cheese...and then there was the time the rolled oats turned out to be instant mashed potatoe..... he he....pics on the packets sometimes dont look like the contents...

They still hold sporting events in this arena in Nimestoday....although its soccer and bull fights not gladiators

Pont du Guarde another Roman Aqua duct...it took water 50ks...I dont think it was an easy task...It was huge

Annecy was a place we liked lots...canals like Venice...we sat for ages writing cards, drinking coffee and ice cream....I had 3 coffees after not having caffene for months...I was Rabid and talking in tongues

Autoroutes on stilts above the towns before they go straight into the side of the mountain...up in the clods we were

scuba divers under the roman aquaduct at St Nazare en Roans...surreal stuff

some of the local facilities takes some getting used to

compare the old and the new.....the smart cars, scooters and pushies are very common

Hong Kong on the way home....pollution really sucks and wasnt impressed with the dishonesty we encounted in some of the shops.....do singapoer or dubai next time as a stop over....FRANCE was wonderful and have lots of tips for anyone going..... cheers
